Blade Care

"The care and feeding of a knife".

The way to take care of your new knife is to clean all dirt, Blood, etc off of it and then coat it with a thin coat of high quality 10 weight oil(not 3-in- one) or a very good past wax or a microcristaline wax such as "Renascence wax" . Do not store your knife in it's sheath. There will be a strong possibility that the sheath will cause it to corrode.

"The care and feeding of Ivory and bone knife handles, and art work"

every six months take some mineral oil on your finger and put a light coat on your ivory or bone Handel or art piece. This will help stop shrinkage and cracking by it's drying out. leave the oil on for at least 24 hours, then wipe it off and then coat with a good quality wax. If your piece is real dirty use little alcohol on a soft cloth and rub gently until clean, then do the oil and wax treatment.

For best sharpness, sharpen to a 20 degree edge. I recomend smith sharpeners, also use a diamond hone.
