The Tiger Bowie knife. $ 3995.00

From concept to completion of this knife took two years. The knife and Stand have more than 150 hours of actual work.

The blade is O-1 steel and is 13 ¼ in long by 2 in wide. The cut out (profiled) blade was them rough ground to a 120 grit finish. It was then tempered by torch heating and quenching in oil to make it glass hard, then the temper was drawn back, in a high temp. oven, to a vermilion color. This is so it will have an edge not too hard and not too soft while leaving the back softer. You will be able to see the temper line on the blade. This is where the hardened edge meets the soft back. Then the blade was hand finished by hand to a 1000-grit finish one stroke at a time on both sides. The drop relief “jumping Tiger” was then carved into the blade using a 400,000-RPM Air driven hand held tool, with 1/6 in carbide bits.

The “jumping Tiger has two round 3MM rubies for eyes, and has had some gold color applied to it.

The handle is made up of 4 pieces of Gabon Ebony, and is epoxyed and threaded to the full-length tang by the pommel. Inleted in each side of the handle is a 22x30MM cabochon of Tigers-eye stone with a sterling sliver pattern wire surrounding them. At each end of the handle is another wrap of S. S. pattern wire.

I hand casted the hilt and pommel out of sterling sliver. I also hand carved

the wood patterns for the hilt and pommel. The gems set in the hilt are: four 6x8 MM Emerald cut Rubies, four 6x8MM Emerald cut Emeralds, four 5MM cultured Pearls, and two 12MM gold Australian cultured Pearls which are set in the end of the Hilt and are held in place by four claws each.

The pommel has 10 5 ½ MM pearls set in the circumference. On the back of the Pommel is a flower made from five marquee cut 8x4MM Rubies for petals, one round natural topaz as the center of the flower, two marquee cut 8x4 MM Emeralds for leaves, and a sterling silver wire for the stem.

There is 25 + troy oz. of sterling silver on this knife.

The stand is made from African Rose wood, and has two scrimshawed tigers on it. The reclining tiger on the base of the stand has two 3MM round emeralds for eyes. The jumping Tiger on the blade support has two 2 MM round rubies for eyes.
